✨ This week in Astoria: April 14th - 19th

ASTORIA LIVE | April 14th, 2026

Hello Astoria,

Is everyone sniffly this week or just me? Weather change, allergies, colds, whatever. Wishing you easy breathing!

I'm starting to feature local Astorians! It's something I've wanted to do for a while to showcase some of our amazing neighbors. To get featured or nominate someone, just email me :)

Some neighborhood news:

  • Lockwood's giant new store on Broadway is having its grand opening on the 18th! I cannot wait to see it! Farewell, money. Hello, cute things.
  • It's another restaurant week! This time on Ditmars. Check it out here
  • A new Filipino coffee and art spot, Millie’s Coffee Co., just opened to good feedback
  • When one Japanese market closes (on 30th Ave), two more open (on Broadway and near Ditmars) with half-off food after 8pm
  • Trestle is now “The Corner House NYC”
  • 31st Ave Open Street's social for new & prospective volunteers is happening on Sunday! I've been involved with 31OS for years and it's a really fun way to meet people in the neighborhood and create commuity. Sign up here

Cheers,
Stacey
