ASTORIA LIVE | January 28th, 2026

Hello Astoria,

So sorry for the late send this week! I figured everyone is hibernating at home if they can, and I needed a bit of extra time to put together some voting info for the special election underway to fill Zohran Mamdani's seat in the State Assembly (district 36). Scroll through to the end for the weekly event round up, as per usual. And forward this to your friends if they need some help learning about the election!

The New York State Assembly is the lower chamber of the New York State Legislature. Members introduce and vote on state laws, set budgets (including education, healthcare, transit), and represent local constituents’ interests in Albany.

Key Election Info

ASTORIA LIVE | March 16th, 2026 Hello Astoria, It's a packed week of events ahead! St. Patty's Day is coming up on Tuesday, and all the Irish bars (and many others) will be celebrating, so it's a great day to either join in and grab a pint, or do something else to avoid the crowds. I spent my Friday night at Mostly Good Studios, getting my hands dirty with clay at a Very Angry Women workshop. It's a great space and Kaitlyn is a great instructor and host. She’s starting a six-week...

ASTORIA LIVE | March 9th, 2026 Hello Astoria, FAKE SPRING HAS ARRIVED!!! I spent yesterday taking a long walk to Socrates Sculpture Park and along the waterfront, popping into the new No Borders Bookstore in the Side B space, and enjoying a free hot dog with kimchi and gochujang mayo in celebration of Between the Bagel's 6-year anniversary. It feels like 70 degrees out right now, so if you can get outside do it! Have a great week!!!!! Cheers, Stacey This week in Astoria March 9th - 15th Want...

Sherlyn's on Broadway has giant hamantaschen if you're still in the mood to celebrate, and Malikah is having an Eid festival on Steinway on the 21st! Neighborhood fave Sweet Scene is closing in a couple weeks - swing by for...
